I'm fundraising for LauraLynn by taking part in the Press Up Challenge this November

This November, I’m taking part in the November Press Up challenge to raise funds for LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice. I’m taking on this challenge for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, will help to ensure that children and their families receive the care they need at all stages of their journey - from provision of specialist therapies, short breaks, to end-of-life care and bereavement support.

Day 30

Sunday 30th Nov
I have been a lot quieter than I meant to me and I missed a few days this week which meant I ended up doing 125 today. 125!But I got there: 1500 pushups. Some people pledged 3000 and some did lots more but 1500 was enough for me and so it proved. BUt I got there. Big thanks to Kathy McGovern Jordan for her brilliant donation. Theres still time to donate so please do if you can.

Day 24

Monday 24th Nov
Well I've been quiet but pushing on. Doing sets of 25 but they aren't in anyway easy. Nor am I going as low as I'd like...mind you I don't think anyone is. Getting a video shared has proven to be too much hassle but will try again. 1200 down 6 days to go 

Day 15

Saturday 15th Nov
So I've graduated to full push ups but my form is awful as you can see! Still I'm half way...750...I am trying to upload video but its taking ages so heres my record card so far.

Day 10

Monday 10th Nov
Yesterday I mixed in a few sets of real push ups with my 'knee' ones. Today I did all 50 in sets of 10. Yay!And that was after 30 minutes workout that included burpees. Hence my first time in the TShirt.
Two issues I have with pushups ..I can't keep my elbows in even when I splay my hands out. And I have to work not to bob my head to give myself the impression I'm pushing up and down more than I am. The second problem is easier to deal with!

Day 8

Saturday 8th Nov
Well Day 6 went down the pan ...didn't get any done so Day 7 and Day 8, today I've done 75 in sets of 25. I think Im getting better! I've even included a couple of sets of 'real' ones each day. It's not much compared to what some are doing but my shoulders are sure feeling it. 

Here's a picture of some smelly kittens...yes they're smelly Well the black one is...also the unfriendliest so just as well...

Day 5

Wednesday 5th Nov
Still doing them on my knees but the shoulders are feeling it. Next week I hope to graduate toproper ones. Knocked off a set of 25 after my strenght work out this morning before work and another 25 when I got home about half 7 before I went out to feed the coal bunker kittens. They were starving. Got an awful feeling the mothers gone off to have another litter.

Tuesday 4th Nov
A Poem 

Day Four,
On the floor,
Arms sore,
How much more?

Horrible, dark, wet day. I think I'm a squiddle. All I wanted to do today was curl up inside a tree until spring. But I did the 30 push ups this morning - 10 'real' ones - and later I did a 3.5km run in the Anne Valley in the mist. You never regret a run. And then 20 on my knees. I want to work my way up to doing sets of real ones because sometimes I feel no matter how hard I work out it makes no difference, so I am hoping a sustained focus on push ups will fix that...

Day 3

Monday 3rd Nov
I belatedly decided to take a picture of my arms for before and after pictures...
20 of my push ups were part of my strength work out in the form of staggered push ups ie you place one hand more forward and push up and then other etc etc. I then did two sets of 15 (from my knees still) after that workout. So all done. I took a video but reluctant to upload to YouTube which is the only way I can share.

It's raining today and I just bought a car after some protracted decision making and numerous episodes of online fannyng around. Finally. Now to get rid of my old car. Modern life is killing me.

Day 2

Sunday 2nd Nov
I just wrote an update and ot disappeared. Suffice to say 50 done - mostly on my knees! - no photos and video not allowed...stay tooned for more interesting updates.

Day 1

Saturday 1st Nov
09:00: 10 done while waiting for kettle to boil. Got back into bed...

16:00...sometime later I remembered to do 10 more while waiting for the PC to do something or other. I am only doing 'knee' press ups to start. Can't be too careful at my advanced age...

16:06...6 minutes later, feeling shamed by my knee push ups, I did 10 more proper ones. I think I'll lie down now...

18:40 Just come in from a walk/shopping/car charging/library. While out walking, I was thinking I should be well able to do more per day. I am doing the lowest number at 50 = 1500. A lot are doing 3000. So I put the dinner on and lashed into it and going well (on my knees) until number 16 when things slowed down considerably.I decided to knock it off at 20. Thats 50 for today. And thats all yer gettin'.
Here are some dirty kittens. They live in the coal shed. I had to make them another bed after last nights rain.
